What is the life of a tree?

It's slow and subtle. Its roots mate with Mother Earth. Sure, it feels the gentle breeze and tingles inside when the wind hits its leaves. It may produce fruit to create offspring. It absorbs the passion of sunlight and the welcome prickles of rain. Weather-beaten bark envelopes its firm wood. Mostly, the life of a tree must be a constant, 50-year hard-on. God above, reincarnate me as a sequoia.
